Cyrus played as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show about a teenage girl who leads a double-life as a performer) as the main character. Her father appeared alongside the show. It became an instant success, and soon sold-out tours were announced along with deals for merchandise. Cyrus became a teen superstar. Cyrus was able to take on new roles after the success and fame in Hannah Montana 2006. She appeared as Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi Mood on The Last Song in 2010 as well as Lola along with Demi in LOL in 2012.
